Restaurant Supervisor FOH at Suum Omakase

Start: ASAP Where: Brisbane City, QLD Type: Full time Pay: $75K-$85K

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Restaurant Supervisor to join our team at SUUM, a modern Korean omakase restaurant located in the heart of Brisbane CBD. Our intimate 16-seat chef’s counter showcases seasonal, creative cuisine with curated beverage pairings, and we pride ourselves on delivering an exceptional guest experience.

 

Job tasks and responsibilities

  • Manage all FOH duties as the sole Supervisor (single-staff FOH operation)

  • Handle phone calls, reservations, and guest enquiries in a professional manner

  • Welcome guests and provide warm, attentive service throughout the dining experience

  • Present and serve wines and beverages, offering pairing suggestions and explanations

  • Collaborate with chefs to assist in explaining dishes and menus to guests

  • Ensure smooth communication between kitchen and guests during service

  • Maintain floor readiness, table setting, and cleanliness in accordance with fine dining standards

  • Monitor guest satisfaction and respond promptly to feedback or requests

  • Assist with closing duties, including basic cash handling and end-of-day checks

  • Uphold health & safety standards and represent the brand with professionalism

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Essential Requirements:

  • Previous experience in fine dining or premium hospitality service

  • Strong wine and beverage knowledge (WSET certification desirable but not essential)

  • Excellent communication skills and a warm, professional manner

  • Ability to manage FOH operations independently with confidence

  • Strong organisational skills to handle reservations, guest enquiries, and service flow

  • High attention to detail and commitment to service excellence

  • Flexibility to work evenings (Tuesday–Saturday)

Desirable Attributes:

  • Experience with wine pairings and upselling premium beverages

  • Passion for Asian or omakase-style dining concepts

  • Ability to collaborate closely with chefs to enhance guest experience

  • Calm under pressure and solutions-focused attitude

  • Professional presentation and grooming standards
