JOB DESCRIPTION

We are looking for an exceptional relationship-builder to join our dynamic and passionate sales team, creating unforgettable guest experiences and selling the largest Accor conference centre in the region. Situated opposite Albert Park Lake, our Hotel hosts 378 rooms and 31 flexible conference spaces offering business and leisure travellers a lavish space to meet, rejuvenate and explore the city of Melbourne.  Our Conference and Events Sales team work to convert client enquiries to maximise the use of our conference spaces and hotel facilities as well as maintain strong relationships with our long-term clients.

What you will be doing:

Joining the commercial heart of our hotel and reporting to the Director of Sales C&E, you will: 

  • secure conference and event bookings, from enquiry through to contracting – including accommodation, event space and food & beverage packages
  • liaise with Event Planning and Reservations teams to successfully handover confirmed events
  • host site inspections for new and existing clients, PCOs and event planners
  • develop relationships with key clients and represent the hotel at networking events

REQUIREMENTS

Your experience and skills include:

  • building strong relationships with our guests and with colleagues
  • excellent written and verbal communication skills with high attention to detail
  • desire for continued growth and driven to meet team and individual targets
  • knowledge of or previous experience in MICE Sales is preferred
  • alternatively, experience in a sales role in a standalone function space or prior experience in a hotel environment 
  • DELPHI and OPERA system experience is desirable but not vital
