JOB DESCRIPTION

Here at Melbourne Hospitality People, we are currently recruiting for our Sales and Events department. 

Please note, these roles are mostly based Monday to Friday, however occasional weekend rotation may be applicable.

The successful candidates will be well presented and have exceptional verbal and written communication skills. Experience in events coordination and the ability to be a team player is a must.

Restaurant Function experience desirable. 

Duties Include:

  • managing venue availability for restaurant/events bookings;
  • managing the booking process within the booking system from start to finish;
  • managing booking deposits and refunds;
  • ensuring customer feedback and special requests are dealt with professionally and appropriately;
  • managing booking sales and confirmations. 
  • negotiating and booking event spaces, coordinating with the Head Chef and Function Manager to arrange food and beverage, ordering supplies and audio-visual equipment, producing event signage and ensuring appropriate décor (florals, linens, colour schemes, etc.) to meet the quality expectations of the client;
  • other duties that may be required as the position evolves.
  • managing the event confirmation process, appropriate communication protocols including meetings and tastings; 
  • reporting updates to the Sales & Events Manager / Senior Sales & Events Coordinator for each event in relation to progress, finance and feedback;
  • keeping track of event finances including deposits and progress invoicing and reporting;
  • coordinating appointments and visits to see the event space and scheduling of events in the booking system; preparing and modifying event contracts as requested
  • anticipating project needs, discerning work priorities and meeting deadlines;
  • ensuring outstanding customer service;
  • building relationships with internal and external customers.
  • negotiating and booking event spaces, coordinating with the Head Chef and Function Manager to arrange food and beverage, ordering supplies and audio-visual equipment, producing event signage and ensuring appropriate décor (florals, linens, colour schemes, etc.) to meet the quality expectations of the client;
  • effectively and efficiently gathering information on each project to achieve quality event productions.
