I am over 18The Section Waiter is responsible for delivering outstanding service within a designated section of the restaurant. This includes managing the guest experience from seating through to final farewell. You will own your section with confidence and professionalism, ensuring guests feel attended to, valued, and delighted throughout their dining experience. In a fast-paced and high-volume setting, you are expected to remain composed, knowledgeable, and proactive at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
Service Leadership: Manage all tables within your section, ensuring exceptional and seamless service from welcome to farewell
Product Knowledge: Maintain deep knowledge of all menu items, specials, wine list, and beverage offerings to confidently guide guest choices and upsell
Order Management: Accurately input orders into the POS system, communicate modifications or allergies clearly, and ensure timely delivery of food and drinks
Guest Engagement: Anticipate guest needs, respond promptly to requests, and create a memorable and personalised dining experience
Timing & Flow: Monitor course timing, communicate with kitchen and runners, and adjust pacing as needed to match the guest experience
Presentation Standards: Maintain high standards of cleanliness, table presentation, and personal grooming at all times
Team Collaboration: Work effectively with runners, bartenders, and management to ensure smooth and professional service across all areas
Conflict Resolution: Handle complaints or issues with grace and urgency, escalating to a manager when necessary
Sales Contribution: Actively drive sales through confident recommendations, add-ons, and knowledge of specials or promotions
Skills & Attributes:
Proven experience in a busy, high-end hospitality venue
Excellent communication and guest service skills
Ability to multitask and prioritise in a high-pressure environment
Strong knowledge of food, wine, and beverage service standards
Professional appearance and positive, team-oriented attitude
Calm, confident, and solution-focused mindset
Preferred Qualifications & Requirements:
Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate
Availability for nights, weekends, and public holidays
Knowledge of basic wine service and food pairings preferred
