Asado is a gem of Melbourne's restaurant scene, and undoubtedly one of Australia's finest Argentinian restaurants. Sitting at the foot of the Eureka Tower, our prime location means that the CBD is on your doorstep when it’s time to treat yourself in town! 

In the Senior Waiter role, your day-to-day will involve

  • Delivering premium service on the floor while role-modelling high standards of food, wine, and guest engagement.

  • Coaching and supporting team members in real time, from onboarding new hires to reinforcing upselling and service techniques.

  • Running pre-shift briefs, tastings, and training sessions to build confidence and product knowledge across the team.

  • Supporting Supervisors with stock control, POS accuracy, compliance, and waste reduction.

  • Helping to maintain venue presentation and safety standards, ensuring FOH always reflects brand expectations.

  • Contributing to team culture by motivating staff, giving feedback, and fostering a supportive learning environment.


RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Think you’ve got what it takes?

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Unrestricted working rights in Australia (Citizens or Permanent Residents), or at least 2+ years left on temporary visa 

  • Full time, flexible availability incl evenings & weekends where needed 

  • At least 1-2 years of experience in a premium, fast-paced restaurant; with a strong understanding of food & beverage service and customer interaction.

  • Ability to confidently serve food & drinks, operate a POS system, and handle transactions accurately.

  • Strong upselling skills and a passion for creating great customer experiences.

  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.

  • A positive attitude, attention to detail, and a commitment to maintaining high service standards.
