YHA is seeking Shift Managers x 2 to join the Adelaide Central YHA. This role will oversee the daily operations of the property and supervision of team members and be the first line of support.  Essentially, you will be working as part of a collective to run and operate YHA, with the opportunity to learn and grow within a team of experienced & fun staff. 

What your day-to-day will look like:

  • Manages the operation of the Front Office team during assigned shift, will be the person in-charge during the absence of Property and Assistant Managers i.e. after-hours and weekends.
  • Ensuring accuracy of transactions in other YHA systems including reservations to other properties, and sales of other products and services.
  • Promoting a friendly and welcoming atmosphere at the property and ensure that the property is representative of the philosophy of YHA in its operation. 
  • Supervising team members on shift and ensuring they follow correct procedures.
  • Communicating and liaising with all team members to ensure the smooth operation of the property.
  • Performing other relevant duties assigned by the Property Manager or Assistant Manager.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

What we are looking for:

  • A minimum of 1 year experience in a similar environment.
  • Strong computer systems skills including reservations and reporting systems; and Microsoft Office suite;
  • Strong financial acumen;
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to influence situations.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with other team members and managers to ensure teamwork.
  • Ability to work a rotating roster and flexible schedule.
