The Castlereagh by Fassnidge is currently seeking a dedicated and skilled Full-Time Sous Chef to join our kitchen brigade.

Role and Responsibilities: As the Full-Time Sous Chef, you will work closely with our other Sous Chef to ensure the smooth daily operations of the kitchen. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting the team in managing all aspects of the kitchen to maintain high standards of culinary excellence and guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborating with the kitchen brigade to create and execute innovative and delectable dishes.
  • Leading and mentoring the kitchen team, fostering a positive and motivating work environment.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety and hygiene standards, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
  • Contributing to menu development and seasonal specials, bringing your creative flair to our culinary offerings.
  • Managing inventory, ordering, and cost control to achieve financial targets.

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

To be successful in this role, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or a similar role in a reputable establishment.
  • Passion for culinary arts and a creative approach to gastronomy.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with the ability to develop a positive team culture.
  • Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Thorough understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
  • Availability to work full-time, including weekends and public holidays.
  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery or a related field is preferred.
