JOB DESCRIPTION

Come fire up the grill in one of Sydney's most reputable steakhouses. Lead our experienced team and work with paddock to plate produce!

Quality, Australian sourced beef is the thing we do best. Using butchery, cheffing and farming know-how, Aussie produce-champion, Matt Moran, calls the cuts. 
 
With years of grill skill behind each wagyu, sirloin and eye fillet, steak perfection is an art. Our signature Montague broiler is made for meat mastery; we know when to get out of flavour's way.  
 
Attracting a steady flow of corporates, special occasion diners and foodies 7 days per week, Chophouse is a high-end, contemporary steakhouse dishing up premium meats in a warmly lit vintage space. 
 
Our wine list is 300 strong, with a bias towards big, bold reds featuring the classics, the contemporaries, and the cults curated by our very own Sommelier Paul Sadler. Cocktails are classic with a twist, and there's also our whisky collection for patrons to work through and a cart dedicated to the delicious nectar.  
 
The dimly lit dining room, complete with elevated cathedral style ceilings and rich wood grain textures throughout, create a sophisticated atmosphere and set the stage for a premium dining experience to remember.

REQUIREMENTS

The Role 
   
As Sous Chef you will be responsible for managing the overall kitchen operation in collaboration with the Head Chef – from daily ordering, preparation for service, rostering, training cooking, plating and ensuring health and hygiene standards are maintained at all times.   
   
Working with premium meat cuts and high end produce, your experience mastering the grill section in your current restaurant will set you up for success, coupled with your exceptional leadership abilities.
   
Working with an industry renowned Chef, you will love the knowledge, the training and the mentorship you will receive here. There is also plenty of opportunity to voice your ideas and help create with us!
