Store Person - Gran Torino at Margaret Family Double Bay

JOB DESCRIPTION

Gran Torino, part of the Margaret family of restaurants, is seeking a full-time Store Person to manage the receiving and storage of goods across our multi-level venue in Double Bay.

Situated within Gaden House—a four-storey hospitality space featuring a basement bar, two levels of restaurant dining, and a dedicated event floor—Gran Torino operates at the scale of a large luxury hotel. As such, we’re looking for a detail-focused and reliable professional to oversee the smooth flow of goods throughout the building.

This is a hands-on role that plays a critical part in supporting our kitchen, bar, wine, and events teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receiving and checking all deliveries to ensure accuracy and quality
  • Safely and efficiently storing all goods across multiple floors
  • Managing equipment movement throughout the venue as needed—particularly important in supporting events and large-scale operations
  • Maintaining the loading dock and storage areas in a clean, organised, and functional state
  • Working closely with the kitchen, beverage, and events teams to ensure timely access to goods and supplies
  • Upholding stock rotation, labelling, and food safety protocols

What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience in a hotel, club, or large restaurant environment preferred
  • A proactive, physically capable team player with strong organisational skills
  • Clear communication and the ability to coordinate with multiple departments
  • Attention to detail and pride in maintaining a clean and efficient workspace
  • Forklift licence is a bonus, but not essential

This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys working behind the scenes to support a large, dynamic hospitality operation.

The Role:

  • Full-time position, paid under the Restaurant Industry Award, Grade 3 or 4 (depending on experience)
  • Includes base hourly rate plus penalty rates for weekends, public holidays, and overtime
  • Entitlements include 4 weeks paid annual leave and paid sick leave
  • Staff meal provided each shift, plus generous staff dining discounts across all Margaret venues

Applicants must have full working rights in Australia.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 1 year previous experience in the above or similar roles.
