Switchboard and Guest Experience Agent

JOB DESCRIPTION

An exciting opportunity exists for a Switchboard Operator and Guest Experience Agent to join our team! 

This entry-level opportunity is ideal for those looking to begin or advance their career in the accommodation industry, and provides the chance to work with industry leaders within a five-star, luxury hotel.

Working as a key part of our Switchboard and Reservations Department, you will assist our valued guests with all areas of their stay, while maintaining an excellent level of customer service throughout all guest interactions. 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Answer internal and external phone calls in a professional and timely manner.

  • Make accommodation and food & beverage bookings, as requested.

  • Respond to guest emails promptly and efficiently.

  • Provide accurate information regarding hotel services, facilities, and policies.

  • Ensure guest inquiries are handled with a high level of professionalism and courtesy.

  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure smooth communication and guest satisfaction.

Please note: You should have a minimum up to 6 months previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Key Requirements:

  • Strong phone and email communication skills.

  • Ability to think on your feet in a fast-paced environment.

  • Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Office programs.

  • Knowledge & experience using Opera Cloud or other accommodation Property Management Systems is preferred, but not essential.

  • Experience in switchboard or high-volume phone environments is favorable, but not necessary.

  • Similar experience in a Front Office or Reservations role is also highly regarded, but not necessary.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a positive, customer-focused attitude.

  • Proficiency in both written and spoken English is required, as this is a communication-focused role.

  • Availability to work across a 7 day roster, with shifts scheduled between 6am – 11pm.

  • Immediate start preferred.

  • Eligibility to work in Australia with no work restrictions.
