JOB DESCRIPTION

Hotel Grand Chancellor Townsville  is currently seeking a  Venue Manager  to join our professional and dynamic Food and Beverage team. In this exciting role you will have the opportunity to be a "hands on" leader overseeing a number of staff and have the ability to shine under pressure, grow the business and exceed our customers' expectations.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you will be responsible for coordinating and managing the day to day restaurant, bar service and conferencing in the hotel. As a Venue Manager your tasks and responsibilities will consist of, but are not limited to the following:

  • Manage the service of food and beverage within the restaurant, bar, and conferencing
  • Create and maintain a high standard of efficiency in service and performance of team.
  • Responsible for coordinating the work of the Food and Beverage Attendants, Team Leaders & Supervisors in an efficient manner, whilst maintaining quality and standards.
  • Have a full knowledge of Restaurant, Bar and Conferencing operations and roles therein.
  • Ensure all food and beverage items served to guests are of the highest standard and presentation.
  • Submit ideas in setting product and service standards.
  • Develop, motivate and inspire staff through training, coaching, counselling and empowerment.
  • Identify guest needs and expectations. 
  • Be aware of conference room capacity and layouts, table plans and knowledge of menu compatibility with regard to prices and suitability.
  • Assist in the recruitment and selection of team members
  • Manage the liquor licencing compliance and hold their RMLV and Approved Manager (or be willing to obtain)

REQUIREMENTS

  • Proven management experience
  • RSA and RMLV

To be successful in this role, you will have unlimited work rights in Australia and will be available to work varied shifts from early mornings to late evenings, including weekends as per our business demands. You have a passion for the Hospitality Industry and are committed to delivering high levels of customer service. You are a natural leader and enjoy developing your team members, and take pride in delivering food and beverage products, you will have proven experience in a similar role for a minimum of 1 year.
