JOB DESCRIPTION

Experienced Waiters NEEDED

Choji Yakiniku Pty Ltd t/as Choji Omakase

Choji Omakase is a Japanese premium-dining restaurant offering an Omakase experience combined with its Yakiniku roots using only the highest quality cuts of wagyu beef. We are now expanding our business and are looking for experienced Waiters to join our team in providing a high-end omakase dining experience to customers. 

This is a full-time opportunity for an enthusiastic, hardworking and reliable person. Opportunities are are also available for staff with sommelier experience and knowledge. 

Location: Chatswood, NSW

Duties and Key Responsibilities:

  • Setting up the venue and arranging the tables for each omakase service;
  • Greet customers and take reservations or dietary requirements
  • Present customers with the food and drinks menu
  • Provide recommendations of drinks to complement each food after understanding the customer’s requirements
  • Take orders and relay to back of house (kitchen and bar staff)
  • Serve food and beverages including the opening and pouring of beverages
  • Clear tables during service which includes collecting used dishes/cutlery and replacing with new dishes/cutlery for next course, refilling and replacing glasses, removing empty bottles from tables, refilling water for customers etc.
  • Provide bill and collect payment from customer when required

RECOMMENDED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE

Waitstaff (Fine Dining)

Please note: You should have a minimum 2 years previous experience in the above or similar roles.


REQUIREMENTS

Experience

Either:

  • Holds at least AQF Certificate III in Hospitality (Restaurant Front of House) (or other equivalent qualification) and at least 12 months of relevant work experience post-completion of course; or
  • At least 18 months of relevant work experience in Australia on a temporary visa; or
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience
  • Previous experience in Japanese cuisine and/or omakase offerings preferred but not essential

Skills required:

  • Attention to detail;
  • Ability to work under pressure;
  • Reliable and motivated;
  • Good team player;
  • Communication Skills;
  • Knowledge in OHS.

Annual salary package: $55,000 - $65,000 per annum plus superannuation
