Are You At Risk?
May 09, 2019
The Institute of Training and Further Education (iTFE) is Australia’s leading private training organisation, delivering a wide range of qualification and short courses to over 25,000 students each year.
At the beginning of 2019, iTFE was named as one of a select group of training providers approved to offer Licensee training courses in line with new regulations issued by Liquor and Gambling NSW.
The new two-tier approach includes mandatory Licensee Training for those granted a new liquor license or transfer after September 1, 2018 with the deadline for compliance set for May 31, 2019.
Who needs to do it?
-
Are you a New Licensee, Approved Manager or Club Secretary?
-
Were you granted a new Liquor License after 1 September 2018?
-
Were you granted a liquor license transfer after 1 September 2018?
This training course is a mandatory requirement for all owners and management staff involved in the serving of liquor in NSW which extends to Pubs, Clubs, Bars, Hotels, Bottle Shops, Restaurants and Cafes.
As business operators in Sydney metro regions involved in the provision of wine, food and hospitality – you can now be trained locally by iTFE. This course is delivered face-to-face to ensure you get personalised service and the chance to discuss with other local businesses.
New licensees applying for a license after 1 April 2019 will also be required to undertake this training.
What if I don’t complete training by May 31st?
Failure to complete the required training by May 31stwould mean traders will be in breach of the Liquor Regulation 2018 and possibly also in breach of their Liquor License condition, if it has been granted.
This would result in a fine and could risk the approval process of that License.
