If you love wine, working in a winery offers the ultimate learning opportunity. You can either delve into the wine experience and get a job as a Cellar Door Sales Attendant, or you could give yourself the romantic scenery of working in a winery, whilst doing what you do best in a front or back of house position in one of the vineyard restaurants.

If you love wine and you’re a people person, then working in a winery tasting room could be perfect for you. Working as a Cellar Door Sales Attendant you will provide advice on wines and related products and services. You will also assist in bookings for groups and tours and deliver excellent customer service. 

While tasting a lot of wine regularly, you will improve at detecting faults in wine, as you must smell and taste every single bottle you open.You’ll learn more about your palate, which will help guide others in learning about their likes and dislikes. Talking with people from different places and walks of life will teach you how to connect with others, improve your communication skills, and boost your sales game.

Taking part in one of these roles means you get to continue doing what you love in hospo work, while also immersing yourself in the wineworld. You will give yourself the opportunity to learn anything and everything there is to know about wine, like you’re on your own wine tour - but you’re earning money at the same time!
