Keeping Track Of Your Super This Summer
Jan 02, 2023
Working over the summer holidays? Make sure your super is working for you too.
Make the most of your summer job with a few handy super tips from AustralianSuper to help keep track of your super.
If you’re under 18 and meet eligibility such as working more than 30 hours a week, you should be receiving super contributions from your employer.
- Set up your online account
Stay on top of your super with online access to your account. Once you’re set up with an online account, you can check your balance, make contributions and update your details.
- Download the app
Once you’ve created your online account, you can easily check your super on the go with your fund’s mobile app, making it easier to check your account as needed.
- Check you’ve been paid super
If you’re eligible for super, your employer should calculate and report your super contributions on every payslip you get – and they must pay contributions to your super fund at least quarterly. Log into your online account or app to check your super transactions.
- Tell your employer your super details
If you haven’t already, make sure your employer has the correct details for your super account. You can complete the ‘Superannuation standard choice’ form to update if needed.
Even when your summer holiday or casual job is over, your super can keep working for you to help it grow over the long run. So don't forget to keep and eye on how it's going and ensure you take your super with you to your next job.
