Mocktail Magic: Top Recipes to Enjoy During Dry July

Dry July is here, and it's the perfect time to explore the vibrant world of mocktails. Whether you're taking a break from alcohol for health reasons, participating in Dry July, or simply looking to expand your beverage repertoire, we've got you covered. The Diageo Bar Academy has a fantastic range of non-alcoholic cocktails for you to make your Dry July a refreshing and fun experience.

But first, what is Dry July? Dry July is a fundraiser that challenges you to go alcohol-free for the month of July to support people affected by cancer. 1. NoGroni

Ingredients:

  • 25ml Seedlip Spice 94
  • 25ml Aecorn Aromatic
  • 25ml Aecorn Bitter
  • Ice
  • Orange twist for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Fill a mixing glass with ice.
  2. Add Seedlip Spice 94, Aecorn Aromatic, and Aecorn Bitter.
  3. Stir well and strain into an ice-filled rocks glass.
  4. Garnish with an orange twist.

Why it works: The NoGroni is a sophisticated, alcohol-free take on the classic Negroni, featuring complex flavours from Seedlip and Aecorn.

2. Seedlip Grove & Ginger Highball

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Seedlip Grove 42
  • 125ml Fever-Tree Ginger Ale
  • Ice
  • Orange wheel for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice.
  2. Add Seedlip Grove 42.
  3. Top up with Fever-Tree Ginger Ale.
  4. Garnish with an orange wheel.

3. Mr. Howard

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Seedlip Garden 108
  • 50ml elderflower tonic
  • 10ml fresh lemon juice
  • Cucumber ribbon for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Fill a highball glass with ice.
  2. Add Seedlip Garden 108 and lemon juice.
  3. Top up with elderflower tonic.
  4. Garnish with a cucumber ribbon.

Why it works: The Mr. Howard mocktail is a garden-fresh blend of Seedlip Garden 108 and elderflower tonic, with a hint of lemon for a crisp finish.

4. Espresso Martino

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Seedlip Spice 94
  • 25ml fresh espresso
  • 10ml simple syrup
  • Coffee beans for garnish
  • Ice

Instructions:

  1. Fill a shaker with ice.
  2. Add Seedlip Spice 94, fresh espresso, and simple syrup.
  3. Shake well and strain into a chilled martini glass.
  4. Garnish with coffee beans.

5. Garden Sour

Ingredients:

  • 50ml Seedlip Garden 108
  • 20ml fresh lemon juice
  • 15ml simple syrup
  • 20ml aquafaba (chickpea water)
  • Ice
  • Lemon twist for garnish

Instructions:

  1. Fill a shaker with ice.
  2. Add Seedlip Garden 108, lemon juice, simple syrup, and aquafaba.
  3. Shake well and strain into a rocks glass.
  4. Garnish with a lemon twist.
