Australian Venue Co's Staycation to Japan launches in Smith St Social next week

We can only dream of visiting Japan right now but with Australian Venue Co’s Staycation launching next week at Smith St Social, guests can escape for a while through internationally inspired food, drinks and experiences – no passport required.

What’s on offer: Celebrating cherry blossom season in Japan – an Instagrammers dream! Smith St Social will be transformed into an oasis of lush florals and seasonal blooms, centred around a Sukura Blossom Tree – perfect for that Insta snap. A delicious menu of Japanese-fusion bites will be accompanied by limited edition sips. Featuring:
- Drag & Dine with Bottomless Karaage Fried Chicken – did someone say bottomless karaage fried chicken? Hosted by guest favourite resident Queens, Drag & Dine is getting an international makeover. As part of the cherry blossom takeover, bottomless karaage will be served with matched sides for just $20 per person. Available on Thursdays from 6pm.
- Pop Up Menu – a delicious selection of Japanese-fusion bites will have guests feeling like they have just got off the plane in Tokyo. Dishes include selections such as Chicken Yakitori Skewers (with sweet soy glaze and nori oil), Beef Menchi Katsu (beef croquettes with katsu sauce) and Tempura Prawns (with chilli sauce).
- Limited Edition Sips – a Japanese inspired cocktail list that is perfect for the cherry blossom vibes including Sakura Spritz, Geisha Gimlet and Cherry Blossom Slushie.
“With many Australians missing out on overseas holidays this year, we’re bringing the holiday vibes to Smith Street Social,” says Kylie Moncur, AVC Chief Marketing Officer.
“Our specially curated pop-up event will transport those in Darwin to Japan, without the expensive airfare.”
