Did someone say Gin Bowls?!

Did someone say Gin Bowls?!

Saké Manly’s signature gin bowls have made their way to Saké The Rocks and Saké Double Bay, featuring new ingredients, botanicals and names.

A demonstration of different gin styles and bespoke Australian tonics with a variety of botanicals, each luxurious gin bowl is served over ice in a voluminous, stemmed, Copa glass that enhances the beautiful aromatics.

These supercharged G&Ts splashed into summer with the launch of Saké Manly and are now available in two sublime blends at Saké The Rocks.

Tommy’s Haiku (below) is postcard pretty and combines Poor Toms Sydney Dry Gin with Artisan Violet Blossom Tonic, hibiscus and chamomile tea, mint, dehydrated strawberries and juniper berries.

In contrast, Fruit of their Archery (below) blends Archie Rose Signature Dry Gin and yuzu sake with East Imperial Yuzu Tonic and receives a botanical burst from rosebuds, purple shiso leaves, pink grapefruit zest and juniper berries.

At Saké Double Bay a trio of gin bowls includes From Japan with Love (below), which heroes Japanese Roku gin alongside
Fever-Tree Lemon Tonic, Yuho Junmai sake, fresh ginger, finger lime and sansho pepper.

Pam and Martin’s Daydream (below) features Brookie’s Byron Slow Gin and Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic with the addition of mango, chilli and juniper berries.

Tommy Strange bears its name from Poor Toms Sydney Dry Gin and Poor Toms Strawberry Gin, which feature in the drink alongside Fever-Tree Elderflower Tonic, sliced apple, strawberries and a sprinkling of juniper berries.

Saké Restaurant & Bar Assistant Food and Beverage Manager Ali Toghani said customers at Saké The Rocks and Saké Double Bay had been calling out for gin bowls since they hit the menu at Manly.

“We’ve created a range of sensational, new infusions that hero the best Australian and Japanese gins that we can get our hands on, alongside bespoke tonics and a range of out-of-the-ordinary botanicals,” Mr Toghani said. “They look beautiful, taste beautiful and are a unique take on the classic G&T.”

Also on offer at both restaurants is a new Saké Favourites Lunch, available Monday to Thursday and featuring a selection of signature dishes with a glass of Riesling, Grenache, or draught beer ($60pp). Favourite dishes include Hiramasa Kingfish with jalapeno and lime koshu and coriander-infused ponzu, steamed prawn dumplings with spicy ponzu, miso-glazed Glacier 51 Toothfish, house salad, spicy tuna hand roll and green tea ice cream.
