Gentlemen's Ball 2019

Jun 17, 2019

Gentlemen's Ball 2019

Grey Goose celebrated the second annual GQ Gentlemen’s Ball last Thursday evening in Melbourne, as the official alcohol partner of the exclusive and premium event, along with luxury department store, Harrolds, Omega, Paco Rabanne and Crown Metropol.

Launched in 2018, the GQ Gentlemen’s Ball celebrates the next generation of influential men and women affecting positive and impactful change leading to big and small victories. Through GQ’s gentlemen’s initiative, the event is designed to support philanthropy across the arts, culture, international development, education, indigenous affairs, environmental conservation and social cohesion.

The GQ Gentlemen’s Ball featured a keynote address by environmentalist, explorer and entrepreneur David de Rothschild, and a panel discussion moderated by TV host and journalist Hamish Macdonald. Panellists included broadcaster and musician Adam Briggs, investigative journalist and creator of The Teacher’s Pet podcast Hedley Thomas, social entrepreneur and founder of Heart on My Sleeve Mitch Wallis, fashion designer Christian Kimber, and Australian cricketer and all-round sport star Ellyse Perry. Chart topping Australian singer and song writer, Conrad Sewell, best known for Kygo’s ‘Firestone’ and ‘Start Again’, entertained guests with a special performance of songs from his new album.

The star-studded guestlist was comprised of fashion mover and shakers and influential industry leaders across the many fields up for discussion, including actress Rachel Griffiths, stylist Lana Wilkinson and TV personalities Anna Heinrich and Lorinska Merrigton. Before sitting down to the 3-course dinner all 250 guests were welcomed with cocktails as the ultimate happy hour at the Grey Goose bar. Bespoke martini carts offered made to order crafted Grey Goose Martinis – with the choice of wet, dry or dirty. A custom Grey Goose cocktail was created to pair perfectly with the main course, garnished with silver leaf foil to play to the intergalactic theme of the evening. During the official afterparty, Grey Goose Espresso Martinis were added to the cocktail offering as the third course so that the VIP attendees could dance the night away whilst enjoy a dessert they could drink.

Grey Goose was the exclusive alcohol partner for the event and looks forward to continuing its GQ partnership by sponsoring the GQ Men of the Year Awards in November in Sydney as the pinnacle.
